Acer launches new lightweight 16-inch laptop globally with 120 Hz OLED and Intel Wildcat Lake
IFAAcer has returned with a new 16-inch laptop under its Swift series. For context, the company has already released the Swift Go 16, Swift Edge 16 and the Swift 16 this year (curr. $1,199 on Amazon). Nonetheless, it has now added the Swift Air 16 to that list as part of its IFA 2026 showcase.
As its name suggests, the Swift Air 16 is on the lighter side for a 16-inch laptop. According to Acer, the laptop weighs 1.5 kg, even with a 70 Wh battery. All versions measure 358 x 252 x 14 mm too, although these dimensions make the Swift Air 16 slightly wider and longer than the Swift 16 we reviewed earlier this year.
While the new Swift 16 contains Intel Panther Lake processors, the Swift Air 16 drops to the less powerful Wildcat Lake platform. Specifically, Acer plans to offer the Swift Air 16 with the Core 3 304, Core 5 315, Core 5 320 and Core 7 350. Moreover, these processors will be configurable with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB of PCIe Gen 4 storage. Also, the Swift Air 16 will be available with the following three display panels:
- IPS, 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, 400 nits, 60 Hz, 100% sRGB colour space coverage, multi-touch support
- OLED, 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, 300 nits, 60 Hz, 100% DCI-P3 colour space coverage, no touchscreen support
- OLED, 2,880 x 1,800 pixels, 500 nits, 120 Hz, 100% DCI-P3 colour space coverage, no touchscreen support
Acer has not confirmed pricing or regional availability yet. Instead, it has merely suggested that the Swift Air 16 will arrive in December 2026. Incidentally, the same is true for the smaller Swift Blade 14 that launched today at IFA 2026 too.
