New LG Gram Book pairs compact design with up to 30.5 hours of battery life

The LG Gram Book AI 2026 14U40V is a new addition to the company's growing line of laptops, and this one is powered by the Intel Wildcat Lake platform. While it's compact in size, it's not necessarily a direct competitor to the MacBook Neo, and the launch price is the reason behind it.

LG has introduced the new Gram Book in South Korea, and the starting price is about 1.4 million KRW, which is around $1,055. The official press release is thin in terms of specs, but the company did highlight the battery life of this lightweight laptop.

Per the brand, the laptop packs a 61.2Wh battery, which makes it capable of offering up to 30.5 hours of runtime after a full charge. This rated battery life is higher than what Samsung is claiming on its recently introduced Wildcat Lake-powered Galaxy Book 6.

Speaking of which, LG didn't share the processor options that would be available for the Gram Book AI 2026 14U40V. However, given that it has "AI" in its name, the laptop is likely powered by an Intel Core 5 320 or better, as CPUs below the Core 5 320 have slightly weaker NPUs or lack one.

Another aspect that's mentioned in the press release is that the laptop has a 14-inch display, but LG didn't go into the details. So, it's unclear whether the screen is better than the one found on the MacBook Neo. Nonetheless, per the brand, the compact nature of this new Gram Book allows it to easily fit into bags (Lenovo Laptop Bag T210, curr. $14.59 on Amazon).

There's a mention of the laptop being 14.9mm thick and weighing 1.29kg (around 2.84lbs). To compare, the Arrow Lake Gram Book 15 weighs about 1.63kg (around 3.59lbs), making the newer addition lighter.

Other aspects highlighted in the press release are a full metal body, a decent set of ports, and a webcam shutter for enhanced privacy. The laptop will be available in South Korea from September 07, 2026, but LG didn't share when the Gram Book AI 2026 14U40V will go global.
