Framework lowers Laptop 13 Pro price for everyone but there is some bad news too

Framework has been quite transparent about the impact of the RAM price inflation on the price of the company’s products. This is why Framework routinely updates consumers about these changes. This time around, Framework has some pretty good news for buyers of the Framework Laptop 13 Pro and some bad news for users looking to purchase a pre-built Framework Laptop 13 and Laptop 16.

Framework Laptop 13 Pro with 32/64 GB RAM gets cheaper

Let’s see the good news first. Framework announced earlier in September that the company managed to source 32 GB and 64 GB LPCAMM2 memory modules from Micron at a reduced price. However, the quantity was low enough that Framework decided to service and pass on the benefits of the reduced pricing only to pre-orders already placed through Batch 10. Framework has now managed to get its hands on more LPCAMM2 memory modules at the same price as the last time. 

More importantly, Framework has extended “the LPCAMM2 price decrease to all remaining Framework Laptop 13 Pro pre-orders and reduced the memory pricing for new pre-orders too”. So, whether you already have a pre-order in for the Framework Laptop 13 Pro or intend to make one for a DIY or a pre-built configuration, the 32 GB and 64 GB RAM options are now cheaper for everyone.

Moreover, Framework has announced that the company is opening pre-orders for the Intel Core Ultra X9 388H version of the Laptop 13 Pro. Framework increased the price of the Core Ultra X9 388H-based DIY Laptop 13 Pro to $1,899 the last time the CPU option became available. There is no further price increase this time around.

Framework warns users that the company only has a limited quantity of the Core Ultra X9 388H and cheaper LPCAMM2 RAM. So, if you were waiting for these options to become available, now is the time to act.

Framework Laptop 13 and Laptop 16 price update

The pre-built Framework Laptop 13 and Laptop 16 are getting more expensive. Framework explains that the company has “depleted inventory of several configurations that we built with lower-cost memory and storage, and have now needed to increase pricing”. Additional pre-built Laptop 13 and Laptop 16 configurations are likely to get more expensive in the coming months.
