Machenike releases new MacBook Pro rival with Panther Lake CPU and 120Hz display

Machenike introduced the Panther Lake-equipped 14 Ultra in July 2026, and now, the company has released this new MacBook Pro M5 rival in China. It sports a relatively slim and lightweight design, with the company claiming it weighs 1.1kg (about 2.42lbs) and measures 15.99mm thick.
This makes the Machenike 14 Ultra slightly thicker than the M5 MacBook Pro but lighter than the Apple laptop. There's a 14-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2880x1800 pixels resolution, and 400 nits brightness rating. The company claims that it has hardware-level low-blue-light tech and DC dimming, both of which should lead to a comfortable viewing experience.
Under the hood, this slim and light laptop packs the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H, a powerful CPU from the Panther Lake lineup. Per benchmarks, it can offer a similar level of performance as the 10-core Apple M5. This processor has the Arc B390 iGPU, which is a capable 12-core Xe3 integrated GPU that can handle 1080p gaming with visual settings turned down.
For those who might need a bit more GPU power, the laptop has a Thunderbolt 4 port, bringing eGPU support (Aoostar AG03 dock curr. $319 on Amazon). In addition to this 40Gbps Type-C port, the laptop has the following:
- 1x USB 2.0 Type-A
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
- 1x 3.5mm audio
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C
- 1x HDMI
There's a 70Wh battery inside, and Machenike says that it allows the laptop to offer up to 16.5 hours of runtime. Other highlights include 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, a pre-installed 1TB SSD with a free M.2 slot, and a dual-fan cooling setup that's said to enable 40W performance.
In China, the Machenike 14 Ultra with the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H has a launch price of CNY 8,499, about $1,267. The company does have a good international presence, but Machnike's laptops don't usually see a wide global release.
