MSI releases 16-inch gaming laptop with Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 12GB and 240 Hz OLED display
MSI has quietly updated its latest Stealth 16 with a new GPU option. To recap, the 16-inch gaming laptop debuted in January during CES 2026. Initially, MSI claimed that it would be complementing a 240 Hz OLED display with up to a GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPU, 128 GB of RAM and a Core Ultra 9 386H processor to rival the Asus ROG Zephyrus G16.
While the latter features in all configurations, the GeForce RTX 5090 and 128 GB RAM are yet to materialise. Instead, MSI is now selling GeForce RTX 5070 variants with 12 GB of VRAM. Announced in April, the RTX 5070 12GB contains the same 4,608 CUDA cores and 128-bit memory bus as its 8 GB counterpart. With that being said, the added video memory helps the RTX 5070 in higher quality or higher-resolution scenarios.
Currently, this new RTX 5070 12GB variant retails for $2,299 in the US, down from a $2,599 MSRP. Meanwhile, a RTX 5070 Ti variant currently runs to $3,099 on Amazon US, the cheapest retailer to have stock of this SKU at the time of writing. Similarly, the RTX 5070 12GB variant costs £2,399 in the UK, undercutting its RTX 5070 Ti sibling across the board.
By contrast, MSI sells its new RTX 5070 12GB SKU in the Eurozone for €3,399, €100 more than the more powerful RTX 5070 Ti, though. According to our benchmarks, the RTX 5070 Ti achieves over 40% higher FPS than the RTX 5070. However, the latter's 12GB version has been shown to close this gap in many modern games.
