New lightweight laptop launches with 14-inch display and Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus chipset

Acer has quietly released a new 14-inch laptop in North America. To recap, the company recently started selling the Swift Air 14 in the same market with Intel's Wildcat Lake platform. As we discussed at the time, the Swift Air 14 combines this platform with a 120 Hz display, a 70 Wh battery and 8 GB of RAM for $699.
By contrast, the new Aspire Lite adopts Qualcomm's Snapdragon X X1-26-101. Functionally identical to the Snapdragon X X1-26-100 CPU-wise, the Snapdragon X X1-26-101 swaps the Adreno X1-45 iGPU for the nominally more powerful Adreno X1-85. Theoretically, this change should provide the X1-26-101 with superior GPU performance. However, a downclock from 1.25 GHz or 1.5 GHz to 0.63 GHz will impact how well the Adreno X1-85 runs.
Setting GPU performance aside, the new 1.2 kg (2.65 lb) laptop also boasts 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, a 512 GB M.2 2280 (PCIe Gen 4) SSD and a 3-cell battery that supports 65 W charging. Unfortunately, Acer has not revealed more details yet, nor has it provided expected runtimes. Also, the company includes an IPS display with a 1,200p resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, 300 nits peak brightness, a 60 Hz refresh rate and a mere 45% NTSC colour space coverage.
The new Aspire Lite 14 retails for $749 in the US from multiple retailers, including Amazon. Currently, we can only find official Aspire Lite (AL14-11M-X8EN) listings in the US. An early Amazon UK listing indicates that the laptop will be available internationally too, though. Please see Acer's website for more details.
