Dell has launched a new rugged laptop with Pro-grade hardware
Dell has introduced the Pro Rugged 14, a 14-inch laptop powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors with optional Nvidia RTX Pro 500 Blackwell graphics. It also offers up to 64 GB of serviceable LPCAMM2 memory, a 1,100-nit outdoor-viewable display and support for dual hot-swappable batteries.

Dell has introduced the new Pro Rugged 14, a semi-rugged laptop aimed at field workers who need more durability than a conventional notebook. The new model combines Intel Panther Lake processors with optional Nvidia RTX Pro 500 Blackwell graphics, serviceable LPCAMM2 memory and a 14-inch outdoor-viewable display.

Processor options include the Intel Core Ultra 5 335, Core Ultra 5 336H and Core Ultra 7 366H with Intel’s vPro feature set. However, only the Core Ultra 7 366H vPro configuration can be paired with an Nvidia RTX Pro 500 Blackwell GPU equipped with 6 GB of GDDR7 memory, while other configurations rely on integrated Intel graphics.

Dell offers the Pro Rugged 14 with 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB of LPCAMM2 memory running at up to 8,533 MT/s. Unlike soldered LPDDR memory, the LPCAMM2 module remains replaceable, improving serviceability in the field. Storage options range from 512 GB to 2 TB, including self-encrypting drive configurations.

The 14-inch display has a 16:10 aspect ratio and 1,920 x 1,200 resolution. Buyers can choose between a 400-nit non-touch panel or a brighter 1,100-nit option with or without touch support. The touch version supports operation with gloves and in wet conditions.

Dell rates the Pro Rugged 14 for 3-foot (0.91 m) drops and operation between -29°C and 63°C. The laptop carries an IP53 rating, providing protection against dust and splashing water, and has passed MIL-STD-810H testing. Dell also claims the system can cold-boot from battery power at temperatures as low as -20°C. Power comes from 53.5 Wh batteries, with support for up to two hot-swappable packs so users can replace one without shutting the system down.

Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, optional Qualcomm Snapdragon X72 5G and an optional discrete GNSS module. The machine also supports quad RF pass-through for connecting external antennas, particularly useful when installed in vehicles.

Physical connectivity is extensive, with Thunderbolt 4, USB-A, HDMI 2.1, Gigabit Ethernet, RS232 serial connectivity, microSD and nano-SIM slots. A configurable I/O bay can add 2.5 Gb Ethernet, USB-A, another serial connection or a Fischer USB connector.

The Dell Pro Rugged 14 starts at 2.13 kg and measures 33.6 mm thick without its bumpers. Optional features include fingerprint authentication, smart-card readers and several sealed keyboard configurations, including RGB-backlit and rubberised options.

Dell has not provided pricing or availability details at the time of writing.
