Asus releases new budget gaming laptop in more countries with 85 W GPU and 144 Hz display

Asus has released one of its latest gaming laptops in more countries. Announced in May at Computex 2026, the TUF Gaming 16 2026 then arrived in Canada, France, Italy and Singapore in the middle of September. Now, the UK and Germany have joined these countries as the laptop slowly makes its way to additional markets.
At launch, Asus claimed that the new TUF Gaming 16 would be available with up to Nvidia's GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU. However, this GPU variant is yet to materialise in any market. Instead, Asus continues to focus on the GeForce RTX 5050, which it pairs with Intel's Core i5-14450HX processor.
Tied to 8 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, the GeForce RTX 5050 also peaks at 85 W including 15 W Dynamic Boost. Moreover, Asus equips the new TUF Gaming 16 in Germany and the UK with an IPS display combining a 1200p resolution with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 100% sRGB colour space coverage and a 144 Hz refresh rate. On top of that, Asus limits the new TUF Gaming 16 to 16 GB of DDR5-5600 SODIMM RAM and a 512 GB M.2 2280 (PCIe 4.0) SSD.
The 16-inch laptop has reached both countries with a 63 Wh and 4-cell battery too. At the time of writing, the new TUF Gaming 16 retails for €1,459 in Germany and £1,699 in the UK, including taxes. While the new 16-inch laptop has not reached the US yet, Asus already sells the comparable TUF Gaming F16 with higher-wattage RTX 50 series GPUs (curr. $1,499 on Amazon).
