Asus releases new budget 16-inch gaming laptop internationally with 144 Hz display and 85 W GPUs
A few months have passed since Asus showcased its redesigned 16-inch TUF gaming laptop. Unveiled in early June during Computex 2026, Asus then confirmed a global launch for the TUF Gaming 16 (2026) a few weeks later. Now, the company has started selling its new budget gaming laptop internationally.
While the more premium TUF Gaming F16 (2026) is being sold for $2,399, the cheaper TUF Gaming 16 (2026) has yet to make it to the US. Instead, Asus is offering the latter in countries like Canada, France, Italy and Singapore. Not only that, but the company has already discounted the gaming laptop in all those markets, too.
Currently, the new TUF Gaming 16 (2026) starts with the GeForce RTX 5050 laptop GPU, a Core i5-14450HX processor, 16 GB of RAM, a 512 SSD and a 144 Hz IPS display with a 1,920 x 1,200-pixel resolution and 100% sRGB colour space coverage. At the time of publication, this configuration costs €1,799 in France, discounted from an €1,899 MSRP. Meanwhile, Asus charges SGD 2,099 (~$1,650) in Singapore, again discounted from a SGD 2,899 MSRP (~$2,275).
Alternatively, Asus is selling a comparable configuration in Italy for €1,199 but with a 1 TB SSD. Reportedly, this configuration initially cost €1,799, before being discounted to €1,399 and now to €1,199. Moreover, the company has brought a GeForce RTX 5060 and Core i7-14650HX configuration to Canada for CAD 1,699, down from a CAD 2,299 (~$1,650) MSRP. It is worth noting that all SKUs contain the same 144 Hz display, 63 Wh battery and single-zone RGB backlit keyboard.
Also, Asus includes dual SODIMM and M.2 2280 slots in a 2.2 kg housing that measures 357 x 259 x 19.4~26.9 mm. However, the TUF Gaming 16 (2026) only extracts up to 85 W from its GPUs, including 15 W Dynamic Boost, compared to 115 W in the case of the older TUF Gaming F16 (curr. $1,499 on Amazon), which leverages the same processor and GPU as its newer TUF Gaming 16 counterpart.
