Lenovo launches new portable monitor globally with dual USB-C and slim design
Hardly any time has passed since Lenovo released its L16 portable monitor. Announced in March, the Lenovo L16 was one of numerous devices that the company brought to MWC 2026 in Barcelona. Regardless, it only started selling the L16 at the start of September in the US and a few other markets (curr. $199 on Amazon).
Less than a month later and Lenovo has already launched a newer portable monitor. Specifically, the company has added the Lenovo L16a Mobile Monitor to its PSREF website, indicating that a global release is on the cards. Visually, the Lenovo L16a departs from the L16 with an Eclipse Black case colour. Moreover, the former adopts ThinkVision branding, which Lenovo describes in the following terms:
A ThinkVision monitor is a high-quality display device created by Lenovo, primarily intended for professional use in technology and computing settings. Compared to regular monitors, ThinkVision monitors stand out due to their enhanced features such as high resolution, superior colour accuracy, ergonomic design, and specialised connectivity options, all of which cater to the demands of professional tasks.
Nonetheless, the Lenovo L16a boasts a mere 45% NTSC colour space coverage and a 1,500:1 contrast ratio. Also, it outputs at 1,920 x 1,200 pixels across its 16-inch IPS panel for a 142 PPI pixel density. Additionally, the display peaks at 300 nits with 8 ms response times and a 60 Hz refresh rate.
Furthermore, Lenovo includes a pair of USB Type-C ports with DisplayPort 1.2 and USB Power Delivery 3.0 support for charging connected devices at up to 65 W. On top of that, the portable monitor finds itself with a Kensington Nano lock slot. Ultimately, the Lenovo L16a is the spitting image of the existing L16, except for new branding and a different colourway. Pricing and availability remain unknown at this stage.
