Xiaomi raises laptop prices overnight – at least seven models affected

According to Chinese tech publication ITHome, citing a Weibo post by tech blogger 懒酱的日记本, Xiaomi has introduced a new round of price adjustments for its laptops in China. At least seven Redmi and Xiaomi models are reportedly affected – including the 2025 Redmi Book Pro 14 and Redmi Book Pro 16, the Xiaomi Book Pro 14 as well as the 2026 Redmi Book 14, Redmi Book 16, Redmi Book Pro 14 and Redmi Book Pro 16. Depending on the model, prices are said to have increased by 400 to 700 yuan.

Prices increased overnight

The price increase is particularly noticeable for the 2025 Redmi Book Pro 16. According to ITHome, the laptop still cost 4,699 yuan on September 15. Just one day later, it was listed at 5,399 yuan. That's an increase of 700 yuan – equivalent to around $95.

Over the same period, Xiaomi raised the price of the 2025 Redmi Book Pro 14 from 6,799 to 7,299 yuan. The 2026 Redmi Book Pro 14 now costs 7,699 yuan instead of 7,199 yuan, while the price of the 2026 Redmi Book Pro 16 has increased from 7,399 to 7,899 yuan. All three models therefore became 500 yuan more expensive, equivalent to around $68.

The Xiaomi Book Pro 14 as well as the 2026 Redmi Book 14 and Redmi Book 16 are also said to be affected by the price adjustments. However, ITHome does not provide a complete comparison of the old and new prices for these three models.

Reason for price increases remains unclear

Xiaomi has neither officially announced nor explained the price changes so far. One possible explanation, however, is that they are related to rising prices for memory and other hardware components. It is currently unknown whether Xiaomi plans similar price adjustments outside China. However, none of the models mentioned above are officially available in Europe or the US anyway. Since the laptops can be purchased through import retailers, the higher Chinese retail prices could indirectly affect import prices as well.
