New HP EliteBook X G3i laptop rears its head with 14-inch display and Intel Nova Lake

Only a few months have passed since HP released its EliteBook X G2 series. As we have covered separately, the series covers a convertible model, as well as 14-inch variants featuring AMD Ryzen AI 400 and Intel Panther Lake processors. Incidentally, we have now reviewed the EliteBook X G2i and EliteBook X Flip G2i too (curr. $2,599 on Amazon).
Nonetheless, early evidence suggests that HP is already working toward launching next-generation models. Appropriately, the company has pivoted to the EliteBook X G3, with an ‘i” suffix added for Intel models. According to Sisoftware, the EliteBook X G3i will feature Intel’s Nova Lake platform, which the chipset manufacturer has not officially announced yet.
In the meantime, Sisoftware reveals that high-end Nova Lake-based laptops will contain 20 processor cores, up from 16 in Intel Panther Lake equivalents. Whether this reflects retail units remains unknown at this stage, though.
Nonetheless, the EliteBook X G3i will also be available as a 14-inch laptop to match its predecessor. More details remain unknown for now. However, the timing of its predecessor’s announcement suggests that the next EliteBook X could debut in January 2027 during CES 2027.
