Lenovo releases 16-inch gaming laptop with Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 12GB and 32 GB RAM
Lenovo has finally started selling an updated version of the Legion Pro 5i 16IAX10 in some capacity. To recap, the company quietly updated its 16-inch gaming laptop in July with new processors and a more capable GPU option than the GeForce RTX 5070 8GB that was available previously.
For the time being, Lenovo has yet to start selling these new options globally. Nonetheless, the Legion Pro 5i 16IAX10 can now be purchased in North America with the 12GB version of Nvidia's GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU. The promised Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus is nowhere to be seen yet, though. Instead, Lenovo pairs the GeForce RTX 5070 12GB with the slower Core Ultra 7 251HX.
Currently, Lenovo charges CAD 3,099 and $2,338 for the Legion Pro 5i with a GeForce RTX 5070 12GB, allegedly discounted from CAD 4,442 and $3,339 MSRPs. Also equipped with 32 GB of RAM, a 1 TB SSD and an 80 Wh battery, this configuration contains a 1600p and 240 Hz IPS display boasting 500 nits peak brightness.
In short, this new configuration undercuts existing RTX 5070 Ti options (curr. $2,999 on Amazon) while allowing the GeForce RTX 5070 to use its full potential. By extension, it reduces the point of entry for those wanting 12GB of VRAM. However, the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti easily outperforms the GeForce RTX 5070 in our tests, even with 12GB of VRAM.
