HKC intros 43.8-inch mini LED gaming monitor with unique 24:9 aspect ratio

As of this writing, ultrawide monitors are quite popular. The majority of such monitors feature a 21:9 aspect ratio, and folks who want to go even wider typically opt for a 32:9 aspect ratio.
That said, there is no doubt that a market exists between the two ultrawide camps, and HKC appears to be interested in addressing the same. The company's latest ultra-wide monitor, reported by ITHome, features a 43.8-inch panel with a 24:9 aspect ratio, which happens to be one that we have never witnessed before.
The 24:9 monitor spans 43.8 inches, sports impressive features
The uniquely shaped gaming monitor features a resolution of 5,760 by 2,160, which is basically the 4K equivalent for its aspect ratio. In fact, HKC even allows customers to split the monitor into a 4K (3,840 by 2,160) and a 1,920 by 2,160 zone which can be used to display timelines, documents, control panels, chat windows, etc.
For gamers, the Apocalypse 43H180C monitor should be a delight to use, given its 1000R curvature and 180 Hz peak refresh rate. That said, it is not clear if the panel utilizes VA or IPS technology, which will have its own set of advantages and disadvantages.
The monitor utilizes mini LED backlighting, and reportedly covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, which should make it a decent choice for content creation as well. That, of course, depends on how accurate the panel actually is.

The panel's exact number of dimming zones, however, has not been detailed. More information should be out pretty soon.
Other notable details that we know as of this writing include:
- DisplayPort 2.1 inputs
- USB-C with 96 W host charging
- KVM support
- Split-screen support
Given the impressive array of features that HKC has revealed, the Apocalypse 43H180C gaming monitor is unlikely to be cheap. At any rate, exact pricing and availability details are yet to be revealed, and a global launch is quite likely.
Folks who would rather get a smaller 27-inch 5K monitor with a typical 16:9 aspect ratio can check out the LG UltraGear GM9 monitor, currently available for $888 on Amazon.
