Philips unveils 34-inch Evnia ultrawide monitor with 5th-Gen QD-OLED and 280Hz

Philips recently announced the Evnia 34M2C8600P, a 34-inch curved ultrawide gaming monitor powered by a fifth-generation QD-OLED panel. The display is specified as having a resolution of 3440x1440, a 21:9 aspect ratio and 1800R curvature, while its 280Hz refresh rate represents a substantial increase over the 175Hz panel of the previous Evnia 34M2C8600, launched over three years ago.

The newer panel reportedly utilizes an RGB V-Stripe subpixel arrangement and five-layer Penta Tandem structure, with the design intended to improve text clarity and reduce color fringing. Philips also advertises a 0.03ms GtG response time, 10-bit color, 99.3% DCI-P3 coverage and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. An anti-reflection coating is included, while peak HDR brightness is said to reach 1,300 nits.

Connectivity is extensive, including two HDMI 2.1 inputs, DisplayPort 1.4 and USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode and up to 90W power delivery. A USB hub, KVM switch and MultiView functionality are also on board. Philips adds AI-enhanced Ambiglow lighting, while AmbiScape can synchronize the display with up to 10 Matter-certified smart lights.

The Evnia 34M2C8600P is scheduled to reach European retailers in October 2026. Pricing has been reported at £779 in the UK and is expected to be €999, though the latter has not been definitively confirmed by Philips. US pricing has not been announced. Asus' ROG PG34WCDN is very similar in its feature set and is currently available at Amazon.
