Mirror's Edge Catalyst is available on Steam for $1 instead of $20 until October 8.
At 95% off, Mirror's Edge Catalyst is currently cheaper than ever before. Released in 2016, the action-adventure game combines an open world with fast-paced parkour from a first-person perspective.

The Steam Autumn Sale kicked off on October 1, 2026. Anyone looking for hefty discounts can currently take a look at Mirror's Edge Catalyst. The parkour game has hit a new all-time low: According to SteamDB, the title is 95% off for the first time, bringing the price down to around $1 from $20. While the reviews are somewhat mixed, anyone looking for a fast-paced action game that primarily rewards skill may still find plenty to enjoy here.

Mirror's Edge Catalyst takes players to the futuristic city of Glass, where runner Faith takes on powerful corporations. However, players shouldn't expect too much in terms of story. The main focus is the gameplay: From a first-person perspective, Faith sprints across rooftops, leaps over gaps, runs along walls and slides under obstacles. Unlike its predecessor, Catalyst features an open world that offers time trials, side missions and collectibles alongside the story missions. There is also melee combat, where Faith once again relies on her agility rather than firearms.

In GameStar's German review, the 2016 action-adventure game received plenty of praise for its fluid parkour system, precise controls and distinctive visuals. However, the melee combat is rather simplistic and the enemy AI isn't particularly smart. According to GameStar, many of the side activities also feel like typical open-world busywork. Even so, the game still earned 80 out of 100 points. Around 79% of its roughly 16,600 Steam reviews are positive, although more recent reviews are significantly less favorable.

However, the negative feedback on Steam isn't solely about the game itself. Many recent reviews primarily criticize the additional EA launcher: Even though Catalyst is purchased and launched through Steam, the game requires the EA App as well as a linked EA account – and this apparently continues to cause launch and access issues. That said, even negative reviews frequently continue to praise the actual parkour gameplay. Anyone looking specifically for that probably can't go too far wrong for $1. Incidentally, Mirror's Edge Catalyst is also playable on the Steam Deck.
