HP releases new 16-inch laptop with OLED display and up to 32 GB RAM
HP continues to expand its OmniBook 5 range with new options. For instance, one can now purchase the OmniBook 5 16 in Europe and North America with AMD Ryzen AI 400 processors. For the time being, we can find active listings in Germany and the US. However, HP is offering more configuration options in the US than in Germany.
Specifically, only one variant is being sold in Germany. At the time of writing, this model costs €999 with a Ryzen AI 7 445 processor, 16 GB of RAM, a 512 GB SSD and a 1200p display. HP asserts that this variant retails for €1,299, though. Similarly, pricing starts at $1,299 in the US, albeit with 256 GB of storage.
Alternatively, one can configure the Ryzen AI 9 465 in the US, which easily surpasses the performance of the Arrow Lake model we reviewed in late 2025 (curr. $848 on Amazon). For reference, the latter enjoys a 31% CPU performance advantage over the Ryzen AI 7 445 in our benchmarks. An even big gap exists between the Ryzen AI 7 445 and Ryzen AI 9 465 in GPU benchmarks, too.
Setting that aside, both processors can be configured with 32 GB of RAM, up to 1 TB of storage and Bluetooth 6.0/Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. HP includes a 68 Wh battery in all cases, too. Also, one can swap the default OLED panel for a touchscreen alternative. This $70 upgrade maintains a 60 Hz refresh rate with 300 nits peak brightness, though. Please see HP's website for more details.
