Deal | Bethesda's most popular and best-selling RPG of all time gets 90% discount

Steam is selling The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition at its lowest recorded price, with a 90% cut taking it from $39.99 to $3.99. Originally released in 2011, Skyrim is the fifth entry in Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls series and one of Bethesda’s most popular RPG titles, having sold over 60 million copies worldwide since its release. Players take on the role of the Dragonborn while exploring an open world, completing quests and developing skills. The game’s open-ended structure allows players to travel freely and postpone the main quest indefinitely.
Skyrim was critically acclaimed at launch, with praise directed toward its world design, character progression and visual presentation, although its combat and technical problems also attracted criticism. The Special Edition followed in 2016 as a remastered version, adding upgraded visuals and effects alongside an enhanced engine. It also brought Bethesda’s Creations platform to PC, allowing players to access additional quests, environments, characters, equipment and other content.
The Special Edition also includes Skyrim’s three major original expansions: Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn. Steam currently lists the game with a "Very Positive" rating, with more than 131,000 positive user reviews. For PC players who have yet to experience Skyrim, or those looking for an inexpensive return to Bethesda’s fantasy world, the $3.99 sale price is available until October 8.
