Aion 2 is live on PC ahead of October 5 launch

NCSoft has opened Advance Access for Aion 2 on PC today, September 30, giving Founder's Pack owners five days of early access ahead of the free-to-play global launch on October 5. The early window runs through October 4. Everyone else can jump in for free once the full release begins. The game is PC only and is available through Steam and NC's PURPLE launcher.

Founder's Pack tiers

Getting in early requires a Founder's Pack. The Standard pack costs $24.99 and the Deluxe pack costs $49.99, with a higher Ultimate tier also on offer. All three include the same five-day Advance Access, so the tiers differ mainly in their bundled extras. Players who skip the packs lose nothing beyond the head start, since the base game is free from October 5.

A sequel built around flight

Aion 2 is built on Unreal Engine 5 and is set 200 years after the events of the original game in the world of Atreia. NC says the world is 36 times larger than the original Aion, with every region and battlefield designed around verticality. Flight is central to combat rather than simply a way to travel, and players choose a faction and ascend as Daeva to take part in a faction war. NC pitches it as an MMORPG where the sky is the battlefield. The sequel first launched in South Korea and Taiwan last year, and this release brings it to the global market.

PC requirements

Steam lists Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) and DirectX 12 for all players. Minimum specs call for a Ryzen 5 2600 or Core i5-10500, 8 GB of RAM, a GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB of VRAM, and 100 GB of storage, with the graphics preset set to Very Low at full HD. Recommended specs step up to a Ryzen 7 3700X or Core i7-11700, 16 GB of RAM, and an RTX 2070 with 8 GB of VRAM. NC recommends an SSD.
