Kena: Scars of Kosmora delayed to 2027

Ember Lab has delayed Kena: Scars of Kosmora from 2026 to 2027 on PlayStation 5 and PC. The studio announced the change in a PlayStation Blog post from COO Josh Grier and game writer Thomas Varga, who said the sequel needs more time to polish. No specific 2027 release date has been given.
Why Ember Lab pushed the release
Grier and Varga said the team wants to exceed the quality of 2021's Kena: Bridge of Spirits at a much bigger scale. Like the first game, Scars of Kosmora is a character-focused linear adventure, but the studio says its scope is broader and deeper, with more to find for players who stray from the main path.
Kena's story on Kosmora
Kena returns as an experienced Spirit Guide, part warrior and part spiritual healer. She has helped the spirits of the dead but has yet to explore what guiding the living looks like. Her childhood friend Orfio believes the island of Kosmora holds answers for them both, so Kena sets out to meet him and learn more about her past and future.
Kosmora's ancient Spirit Guides built their approach around four elements and Alchemystic Temples. Four interconnected cultures once thrived there, each fueled by a guiding element, before a mysterious cataclysm destroyed one. Several living cultures remain, and the elements still shape how each one lives.
Temples and a crystalline canine companion
Ember Lab calls the temples a big part of the game. They are dungeon experiences that challenge players' skills and pay off with transformative rewards. To cross the larger world, Kena also gains a crystalline canine companion tied to both gameplay and the island's origin. The ancient spirit works as a mount, fights beside Kena both mounted and on foot, and helps solve Alchemystic puzzles.
Platforms and availability
Kena: Scars of Kosmora arrives in 2027 on PS5 in physical and digital editions and on PC as a digital release. PC listings are live on Steam and the Epic Games Store, with PlayStation Publishing named as the official publisher. The game was announced at a State of Play in February with a 2026 window, and wishlisting is open on the PlayStation Store.
