Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered launches

Koei Tecmo and developer Omega Force have released Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered today, October 1, 2026. The Unreal Engine 5 remaster bundles the 2001 PlayStation 2 original with its Xtreme Legends expansion in a single package. It is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. A previously announced Switch 1 version is no longer planned.

What is included

The remaster carries over the complete cast of more than 40 officers as well as battlefields from the original game, all rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5. Dynasty Warriors: Origins protagonist Ziluan joins the roster as a new addition. The Xtreme Legends expansion adds extra stories for seven officers, including Lu Bu, Meng Huo, and Yuan Shao, along with bodyguard customization, new weapons, and four types of challenge modes. The series-defining 1 vs. 1,000 battles return alongside True Musou Attacks and the officer development system.

New combat options

Omega Force has layered several new mechanics on top of classic combat. Evasion lets players dodge enemy strikes or temporarily withdraw from the front line, and a perfectly timed dodge triggers a Just Evasion counterattack. Perfect Power Guard rewards a well-timed Power Guard by deflecting an incoming attack and stunning the opponent, which opens a window to hit back. The new Weapon Fusion system lets players sacrifice unwanted weapons to transfer their elemental attributes and skills to another weapon.

Modes and co-op

The acclaimed offline two-player mode makes a return, with split-screen play across Musou, Free and VS modes. Players can also take on new scenarios featuring a large roster of unlockable officers, which sit alongside the original story.

Editions and pricing

The Standard Edition is priced at $39.99. The Digital Deluxe Edition costs $69.99 and adds 42 weapons, a set of 42 retro costumes based on the original game, an officer concept art collection, and in-game items including Six Secret Teachings, Wind Scroll and Tiger Amulet. Pre-orders also came with a retro-style red hare saddle, which lets players ride Red Hare with its original look. The Xbox Store lists the game as optimized for Xbox Series X|S and tags it as 60 fps or higher.
