Acer refreshes the Predator Helios 300 with Intel Comet Lake-H processors, an overclockable NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q and a 240 Hz IPS display
Acer has refreshed the Predator Helios 300. The 15.6-inch gaming laptop, which we reviewed last year with a Core i7-9750H processor and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GPU, is now available with Intel Comet Lake-H processors and up to an RTX 2070 Max-Q. Acer states that the latter is overclockable, for reference. While the design of the Predator Helios 300 remains unchanged, Acer has upgraded the device to a 240 Hz FHD IPS display that retains the 3 ms overdrive response time of its predecessor.
Additionally, the new Predator Helios 300 supports up to 32 GB of LPDDR4-2333 RAM, two PCIe NVMe SSDs in RAID 0 and a 2 TB hard drive. Acer has also brought DTS:X Ultra Audio to the machine, which it promises will provide the feeling of 360° surround sound. The 4th generation AeroBlade 3D fan and Acer CoolBoost return from last year's model too.
The Acer Predator Helios 300 will be available to order in China this month for CNY 8,999 and upwards. The gaming laptop will reach EMEA and North America the following month where it will start from €1,299 and US$1,199.99 respectively.
