Dutch retailer lists US$1400 Tiger Lake i7-1165G7 Acer Swift 5 laptop: set to arrive on July 27th
Dutch retailer Centralpoint just listed a Tiger Lake i7-1165G7 laptop, the Acer Swift 5 SF514-55T-77BX for sale. The Tiger Lake laptop is expected to ship on July 27th, according to the listing. This appears to be the earliest 10nm Tiger Lake retail product listing we've seen yet.
Apart from sporting an i7 processor, the notebook sports 16GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and a 14in 1080p display. At EUR1379, the Acer Swift 5 is a bit pricey for what it offers. Based on what we know about Intel's nomenclature ,the 1165G7 sports the top-end G7 GPU configuration.
However, prototype Tiger Lake GPU performance puts even this model on par with low-end NVIDIA discrete solutions like the GeForce MX350. Ryzen 7 4800H and GTX 1660 Ti-powered laptops like the ASUS TUF Gaming A15 can actually be had for substantially less.
Nevertheless, considering that it's a low-profile 14in ultrabook, the Tiger Lake-powered Acer Swift 5 should offer a good balance of gaming and productivity-oriented performance. In the weeks and months to come, we should see more Tiger Lake-equipped parts and get a better idea of how Xe iGPUs perform in real-world conditions.
