Framework shares good news about RAM, CPU for Framework Laptop 13 Pro users

RAM price increases have unfortunately become a standard in today’s market. Framework also had to raise the prices of the LPCAMM2 modules for the Framework Laptop 13 Pro in late July. The company finally has some good news to share, as Framework has managed to secure some supply of 32 GB and 64 GB LPCAMM2 modules from Micron at a reduced price.
Additionally, Framework has also managed to get its hands on more Intel Core Ultra X9 388H CPUs for the Framework Laptop 13 Pro. However, the Core Ultra X9 388H has reportedly become more expensive, which is why Framework has had to increase the price of the CPU option.
Framework explains that customers who’ve already ordered the Framework Laptop 13 Pro with the previously more expensive RAM will get a refund. The price adjustment will be applied automatically for pre-order customers waiting for their shipment.
For those who’ve already received their DIY Laptop 13 Pro orders but want to upgrade to 32/64 GB LPCAMM 2 RAM, Framework advises users to contact the support staff.
Finally, due to the limited supply of the LPCAMM2 modules and the Core Ultra X9 388H CPUs, existing customers who’ve placed an order through Batch 10 will be the first ones eligible to modify their orders to get the cheaper 32 GB/64 GB LPCAMM2 RAM and the Core Ultra X9 388H. Framework will open the RAM and CPU options to customers of later batches next, if stock permits.
Finally, if there is still LPCAMM2 memory and the Core Ultra X9 388H stock left after servicing all willing pre-order customers, Framework will open the options for new pre-orders.
Framework Laptop 13 Pro is an excellent machine
When we reviewed the Framework Laptop 13 Pro back in July, the notebook earned an excellent rating of 88%. The Laptop 13 Pro is a massive upgrade over the aging Laptop 13 in almost every way that matters, including battery life. It is a worthy alternative to other pro laptops like the Apple MacBook Pro M5 (available on Amazon).
However, component price inflation can quickly diminish the value of the Laptop 13 Pro. Framework is not a big laptop maker like Apple or Dell. So, the company has limited ability to cushion consumers from the impact of price increases. We do hope the situation improves, as the Framework Laptop 13 Pro is a really cool and exciting product.
