Framework has previewed the latest iteration of the Framework Desktop PC at AMD's Advancing AI event. The Framework Desktop is a small 4.1-litre mini-ITX PC that is powered by the Ryzen AI Max "Halo" APUs. The newest iteration brings the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495.

It feels like Framework is among the few PC makers that actually try to innovate time and again. Last year, the company introduced the Framework Desktop, Framework’s first-ever non-laptop product. Built around the AMD Ryzen AI Max Zen 5 APUs, the Framework Desktop aims to deliver impressive performance in a tiny package. Framework has now launched a new SKU of the Framework Desktop.

The Framework Desktop’s newest SKU packs the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 with 16 full Zen 5 cores, a boost clock of 5.2 GHz, and a Radeon 8065S iGPU. The Radeon 8065S iGPU is AMD’s fastest integrated graphics solution, courtesy of 40 RDNA 3.5 Compute Units and a clock speed of 3 GHz.

So, even without a dedicated GPU, the Framework Desktop with the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 and the Radeon 8065S will be able to push AAA games at FHD without compromising on details.

That said, when the Framework Desktop with the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 is available to buy, it will come with a humongous 192 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and an open-ended PCIe x4 slot that can accommodate large PCIe cards. With such a massive RAM buffer, it is not surprising that the Framework Desktop under discussion is targeting people who want to run local AI models. Framework claims on X that the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495-powered Framework Desktop will be able to fit models like DeepSeek-V4-Flash at Q8.

Now, there is some bad news. Framework cautions that the 192 GB RAM does not come cheap and will be a “pretty substantial jump over our current 128GB Framework Desktop pricing”. Currently, the 128 GB RAM version of the Framework Desktop with the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 costs an eye-watering $3,449. This version used to cost just $1,999 when the Framework Desktop was initially revealed back in February 2025.

Since the incessant increase in RAM prices has hit Framework hard, don’t be surprised if the Framework Desktop with the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 ends up costing over $4,000.

Framework has not yet revealed any pricing or release date for the new Framework Desktop.
