Gaming mini PC with up to 192 GB DDR5 RAM and 16-core AMD APU to arrive early next month

GMKtec has now confirmed that its AMD Gorgon Halo-powered gaming mini PC with a powerful 16-core Zen 5 APU will be launched at IFA 2026, scheduled to be held next month in Berlin.

The popular mini PC OEM has not divulged any other details regarding the Evo X5 Pro apart from explicitly confirming that the mini PC will be powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 APU.

The AMD Zen 5-based 'Gorgon Halo' family will power the Evo X5 Pro mini PC

Following in the footsteps of its successful predecessor, the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 APU features a 16-core setup consisting solely of full-fat Zen 5 cores. The chip sports a peak boost clock of 5.2 GHz, along with 16 MB and 64 MB of L2 and L3 cache. 

Given that the Gorgon Halo family was announced only around 3 months ago, we can only refer to a very limited set of leaked benchmarks. The Evo X5 Pro mini PC has itself leaked previously, indicating a multi-core score of roughly 18,000 points in Geekbench 6.

Of course, with further tweaks and enhancements prior to launch, the final version of the gaming mini PC may perform even better.

In simpler terms, the Evo X5 Pro is definitely shaping up to be an extremely powerful mini PC for gaming as well as other professional workloads. The Gorgon Halo APU can also be equipped with up to a whopping 192 GB of RAM, which will be shared by its Radeon 8065S iGPU as well for handling massive LLMs and other professional workloads with hefty VRAM requirements.

The RDNA 3.5-based Radeon 8065S iGPU features a total of 40 CUs with a peak clock speed of 3 GHz - 100 MHz more than the Radeon 8060S found in the highest-end Strix Halo APU. As such, the iGPU is expected to perform at the same level as a GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop dGPU.

GMKtec has not yet revealed any pricing details regarding the Evo X5 Pro. Given just how pricey DRAM has been of late, the powerful gaming mini PC is almost certain to command an eye-watering price tag.
