Deal | Massive $150 discount makes the superb 24-core Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus gaming CPU cheaper than ever

Micro Center is currently offering a $150 discount on the recently released Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus "Arrow Lake Refresh" desktop CPU. This brings its price down to just under $200, which is the lowest we have seen so far for the well-reviewed 24-core gaming and productivity powerhouse.

However, this offer is applicable only for in-store pickups. Micro Center has a lot of stores across the US, which should make this less of a hassle for those in proximity of one.

The Core Ultra 270K Plus CPU features a total of 24 cores and 24 threads. A total of eight performance cores and 16 efficiency cores are present with a peak clock of 5.5 GHz. The 3 nm chip continues to utilize the LGA 1851 socket and features a 250W TDP.

According to TechPowerUp's detailed review of the gaming CPU, the 270K Plus defeats the previous Arrow Lake champion, the Core Ultra 9285k, by around 2% In most applications. When gaming at 1440p, the 270k+ features a roughly 1% improvement over the Core Ultra 9 285K.

Needless to say, the far pricier Ryzen 7 9800X3D gaming CPU (currently $444 on Amazon) continues to be the absolute king of the hill when it comes to gaming performance, featuring a 9% improvement over the 270K Plus in 1440p gaming performance. 

In productivity, however, the 270K Plus trails only the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, and goes toe-to-toe with the Ryzen 9 9950X, which currently costs a whopping $550 on Amazon. 

Compared to the similarly priced Ryzen 7 9700X, the 270K+ sports a rather impressive 30% improvement in productivity applications and a surprising 2% improvement in gaming performance, once again at 1440p.

Clearly, at its current all-time low price at Micro Center, the Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus gaming desktop CPU offers a ton of bang for the buck for not just productivity enthusiasts, but also gamers.
