Lenovo has finally started selling one of its new budget-oriented gaming laptops. Equipped with a 165 Hz display, the LOQ Essential 15IPH11 combines Intel's Panther Lake architecture and Arc B390 graphics to balance gaming performance and battery life. Currently sold in Japan, the new 15-inch laptop will eventually receive a global release too.

Lenovo has quietly released one of its new budget-oriented gaming laptops. Spotted earlier this month, Lenovo confirmed Eurozone pricing and availability for the LOQ Essential 15IPH11 a few days ago. For reference, the laptop will go on sale there at the end of September.

In the meantime, Lenovo has started selling the LOQ Essential 15IPH11 in Japan. As expected, the laptop is only available with the Core Ultra X7 358H from Intel's Panther Lake platform. Additionally, the laptop only makes use of the Arc B390, an iGPU that performs well at 1080p in triple-A titles and at 1440p in some simpler games.

Accordingly, Lenovo includes a 1200p display. An IPS panel, this 15.3-inch display also offers an anti-glare coating with a 165 Hz refresh rate, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 100% sRGB colour space coverage. However, the laptop's Arc B390 iGPU will offer worse performance than the RTX 5050 or RTX 5060 inside the similar LOQ Essential 15IRX11 (curr. $1,349 on Amazon).

Still, Intel's Panther Lake architecture is said to deliver 19 hours of battery life from its 60 Wh battery when streaming locally-stored videos at 1080p and 150 nits. In comparison, the LOQ Essential 15IRX11 is said to last 9 hours, with the newer LOQ Essential 15IRH11 rated for just 4 hours in the same test.

Lenovo Japan reveals that the LOQ Essential 15IPH11 starts with 16 GB of LPDDR5X-8533 RAM and 512 GB of storage. Priced at JPY 253,880 (~$1,585), this configuration should correspond with the €1,599 (~$1,565 ex VAT) starting price that Lenovo mentioned a few days ago. Alternatively, the new 15-inch gaming laptop can be configured with 1 TB of storage and faster 9,600 MT/s RAM for JPY 273,080 (~$1,699).

Lenovo charges JPY 15,000 (~$93) and JPY 1,500 (~$9.35) to configure these components individually. Hence, we would not be surprised if a fully configured LOQ Essential 15IPH11 reached €1,699 in the Eurozone and a similar amount in the US. Please see Lenovo's website for more details about its first Arc B390-based gaming laptop.
