Gigabyte has introduced an AMD Gorgon Point-equipped Brix mini PC. Set to launch in two configurations, GB-BRR7-450 and GB-BRR5-430, it has a compact overall form factor, eGPU support through the USB4 port, and can be equipped with up to 96GB of RAM.

The Gigabyte Brix mini PC series has seen a new addition, and it's powered by the AMD Gorgon Point APUs. Specifically, the company has silently introduced two new models: GB-BRR7-450 and GB-BRR5-430.

Among the two, the GB-BRR7-450 is powered by the Ryzen AI 7 450, while the GB-BRR5-430 packs the Ryzen AI 5 430. The former features the Radeon 860M, and the latter has the Radeon 840M. Even though the former is the successor to the decently capable Radeon 780M, neither of them is ideal for heavy GPU workloads.

On the bright side, this AMD mini PC has eGPU support through its USB4 port (Bosgame RX 7600 XT eGPU curr. $689.99 on Amazon). Of course, it would be great to see an OCuLink port, but this port is typically not found in PCs offered by mainstream brands like Gigabyte. Other than the two USB4 ports, the Brix GB-BRR7-450 and GB-BRR5-430 have the following port configuration:

  • 2x USB 2.0 Type-A
  • 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C
  • 2x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
  • 2x HDMI
  • 1x 2.5GbE
  • 1x 3.5mm audio

Gigabyte also highlights that the mini PC can be equipped with up to 96GB of DDR5 RAM through the two SO-DIMM slots, and for storage, there are two M.2 slots with support for PCIe Gen 4x4 SSDs. Design-wise, the spec sheet suggests that it will have the same compact chassis as the recently unveiled Brix mini PCs, such as the GB-BRU9-386H.

Other highlights include WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, quad display output support, and a low-noise cooling setup. There's no word on the price and availability, but the spec sheets for both are online, suggesting that Gigabyte will likely launch the mini PC soon.
