Garmin has delivered a new update to one of its cheaper smartwatches. Rolling out worldwide as a free download, the new update is said to improve the overall user experience while updating text translations, too.

Garmin has just released the Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro (curr. $1,099 on Amazon). Nonetheless, the company continues to roll out new updates for older smartwatches like the ageing Fenix 7 series. The same is true for its budget options too, including the Lily 2.

To recap, Garmin launched the Lily 2 in January 2024. Despite being over two and a half years old, the Lily 2 still receives regular stable software updates. For reference, the hybrid smartwatch with connected GPS support received Software Version 8.29 two months ago.

Now, Garmin has transitioned stable software development to Software Version 8.30. Rolling out globally, the new update will be available through Garmin Connect Mobile (GCM) and Garmin Express. In a forum post, Garmin claims to have added next text translations, which it has packed within v8.30.

Additionally, the company asserts that it has enhanced system stability. Unfortunately, it has not elaborated further. Moreover, the new update has already reached 100% of eligible devices. If that is not the case, then you can trigger a new download by navigating to 'Check for Updates' within GCM or Garmin Express.
