Aniimo sets September 16 release date across PC and consoles

Pawprint Studio, the development and publishing label backed by FunPlus, has confirmed a September 16, 2026, launch date for Aniimo, a free-to-play creature-catching open-world RPG. The date arrived via a new trailer that debuted during Gamescom Opening Night Live. Aniimo launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store on September 16, with a mobile version following on the App Store and Google Play on September 23.

More than 200 creatures and the Twining mechanic

Set on the continent of Idyll, Aniimo casts players as Pathfinders exploring biomes including Driftwise Meadow, the fiery Sandcastle Hill, and Rosetower Wood, each with its own creature ecology. More than 200 Aniimo creatures will be available at launch, with different forms appearing depending on factors such as weather and biome. Beyond capturing, battling, and evolving creatures, the core mechanic is twining, which lets players merge with their Aniimo. Twining unlocks new traversal abilities such as flying, burrowing, and sprinting; opens up creature-perspective puzzle solving; and changes combat.

PvP, Homeland, and pre-order bundles

Aniimo also features competitive and cooperative multiplayer. A PvP mode called Diamond Egg Heist pits teams of players against each other, while co-op tools such as the Horn and Flute let players call for help or invite others to join them in the open world. Outside combat, the Homeland system lets players build and decorate a base, farm resources with their Aniimo, and set up fairground attractions, with facilities accessible from an RV campsite. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players can now pre-order two bonus packs, the Advanced Edition and the Collector's Edition, which include a battle pass and platform-exclusive cosmetic items.
