Swiss producer Helvepic unveils Epic Montreux 2027 at Auditorium Stravinski, featuring 2WEI's first full live concert and an international composition competition.

Swiss concert producer Helvepic has unveiled "Epic Montreux," a new international event celebrating epic music, set to take place on 5 and 6 March 2027 at the Auditorium Stravinski in Montreux, Switzerland. The inaugural edition is presented in partnership with La Saison Culturelle de Montreux, and ticket sales open on 1 October 2026, with early bird pricing available until 18 October 2026.

2WEI to headline first full live concert

The festival centers on two concerts headlined by German epic music collective 2WEI, joined by featured artist Edda Hayes and the Tale of Fantasy Choir and Orchestra, which marks its tenth anniversary in 2027. The shows will be 2WEI's first-ever full live concert, bringing the collective's cinematic sound to the stage. More than 200 singers and musicians will perform across symphonic orchestra, choir, and solo vocal arrangements, with staging and visuals created specifically for the event. Helvepic also produces the touring anniversary series World of Warcraft: 20 Years of Music and describes Epic Montreux as a platform for both established acts and emerging composers in the genre.

Composition competition open to emerging artists

Helvepic is also launching an international composition competition for emerging composers working in epic music, the cinematic style associated with film, video games, and trailers. Applications open on 16 September 2026 and close on 8 November 2026. Three finalists will travel to Montreux to have their work performed live by the full orchestra and choir. Three-time Emmy winner Russell Brower, audio and music director at CD Projekt Red, serves as the competition's inaugural patron and will take part in judging. The jury also includes composers Alex Moukala, Bernard Duc, and Cedric Baravaglio, alongside conductor Ludwig Wicki.

Tickets and event details

Each concert runs approximately one hour and 40 minutes, plus a 20-minute intermission, for a total runtime of around two hours and 15 minutes. The wider program includes masterclasses, panels, meet and greets, and networking sessions for composers, artists, and industry professionals. Montreux, a UNESCO City of Music since 2023 and home to the Montreux Jazz Festival, was chosen as a fitting setting for a genre that has built a growing international audience over the past decade.
