MacBook Pro alternative with 20-core CPU, 128GB memory, 2TB SSD and RTX Spark N1X set to launch

Asus first announced the ProArt P16 (H7607) alongside the smaller ProArt P14 at Computex 2026. We previously reported on the laptop's specifications.

Asus has now confirmed through its official Weibo account that the ProArt P16 will launch in China on October 8. The company says the ProArt P16 is designed for local AI agents and creative applications, allowing users to handle these workloads without relying entirely on cloud processing.

The laptop uses Nvidia's RTX Spark N1X, which combines a 20-core Grace CPU with a Blackwell GPU featuring 6,144 CUDA cores. The platform supports up to 128GB of unified LPDDR5X memory, allowing the CPU and GPU to share the same memory pool.

The ProArt P16 is available with two 16-inch OLED display options. The 3K panel has a 120Hz refresh rate, while the 4K version also runs at 120Hz. Both panels cover 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and support touch and stylus input.

For storage, Asus lists up to a 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, with two M.2 2280 slots that support PCIe 5.0 x4. The laptop measures 354.1 x 243 x 12.9 to 15.9mm (13.94 x 9.57 x 0.51 to 0.63 inches). Asus says the RTX Spark-powered P16 is 14% thinner and 9% lighter than its predecessor.

The new configuration differs from the previous ProArt P16 generation (currently available on Amazon), which paired AMD Ryzen processors with discrete Nvidia graphics. The new model uses a unified memory design, allowing the CPU and GPU to access the same memory pool.

The ProArt P16 will also be an alternative to the Apple MacBook Pro 16 2026 M5 Pro and MacBook Pro 16 2026 M5 Max, which we have reviewed. Its RTX Spark N1X has a 20-core CPU, compared with 18 CPU cores in both MacBook Pro models. The ProArt displays have resolutions of 2,880 x 1,800 and 3,840 x 2,400, compared with 3,456 x 2,234 on the MacBook Pro 16.

The higher-resolution ProArt panel reaches up to 1,600 nits HDR peak brightness, while the other panel reaches up to 1,100 nits. The MacBook Pro also reaches 1,600 nits peak HDR brightness. The ProArt P16 has a 99.9Wh battery, compared with 99.6Wh in the MacBook Pro 16, and weighs 1.77kg (3.9 lbs), compared with 2.12kg (4.7 lbs) for the MacBook Pro 16 M5 Pro.

Asus has not yet announced pricing for the ProArt P16.
