Lenovo is currently offering the Lunar Lake-equipped ThinkBook 14x for just $699, 36% off the price it debuted with in North America about a month ago. It includes a 14-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 × 1200, up to 400 nits of brightness, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and 100% coverage of sRGB.
Inside is an Intel Core Ultra 5 226V (4x P-cores, 4x LP E-cores) paired with 16 GB of LPDDR5X-8533 on-package memory and a 256 GB PCIe 4.0 SSD taking up an M.2 2242 slot, with a further M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot allowing for quick and easy storage expansion.
Connectivity comprises a pair of 10 Gbps USB-C ports (Power Delivery, DisplayPort 1.4), two 5 Gbps USB-A, HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5 mm audio combo jack. An Intel AX211 wireless card adds Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 support.
The laptop measures 12.28 × 8.54 × 0.61 inches (312 × 217 × 15.6 mm) and tips the scales at 2.18 lb (990 grams), while housing a 54.7 Wh battery capable of charging up to 50% in 30 minutes with the included 65 W USB-C power adapter.
Although the ThinkBook 14x packs some impressive specs for the price while remaining lightweight, its main drawbacks are the absence of an SD card reader and the fact that the RAM is not user-upgradable.
