Galaxy Wide Fold, arguably the more exciting foldable, shows up in early renders

Following the Galaxy Z Fold 8 CAD renders that surfaced yesterday (March 24), renders for the arguably more interesting foldable have followed suit. Samsung has confirmed that it is working on a cheaper book-style foldable and the Galaxy Wide Fold or Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, or whatever it ends up being called, is expected to come out alongside the premium offerings in July.
The renders, once again, come from OnLeaks via Android Headlines and show a shorter but wider Galaxy Z Fold phone. They suggest that the slim form factor will be retained but the number of cameras will be cut down to two. Besides, the smaller size, there doesn’t seem to be any other design change.
The report also mentions some of the expected specifications for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide. It is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy and in line with previous leaks, sport a 5,000 mAh battery with 45W charging. Android Headlines reiterates the same screen sizes as previously leaked, that's 5.4-inch for the cover and 7.6-inch for the inner display. This gives the phone a 4:3 aspect ratio.
Being a more compact option, the Wide Fold is said to measure 123.9x161.4x4.9 mm when unfolded, and this includes the bezels. Without them, the phone would measure around 4.3 mm. As for its folded measurements, 123.9x82.2x9.8 mm is expected. This makes the Wide Fold a bit chunkier than the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which is expected to have the same dimensions as the Galaxy Z Fold 7 (buy on Amazon). Do note that these are early renders so dimensions may not be accurate.
The reduction in number of cameras is understandable but the retention of the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy SoC is a welcome addition, despite the phone being cheaper than the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
