Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 4G receives first release to replace older Redmi Note 13 4G
Xiaomi has now replaced the Redmi Note 13 4G (curr. $174.99 on Amazon) with a direct successor, which it has been selling for almost a year at this point. In short, the Redmi Note 14 4G makes improvements over its predecessor in some areas but not in others.
On the one hand, Xiaomi has re-used the 108 MP primary and 2 MP macro sensors from the Redmi Note 13 4G. The newer smartphone features a superior 20 MP front-facing camera though, albeit also with a 2 MP depth of field camera in lieu of its predecessor's 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera.

The new 20 MP front-facing camera sits within what appears to be an unchanged 6.67-inch AMOLED display too, which continues to output at 1,800 nits and 1080p. Xiaomi has moved from Gorilla Glass 3 to Gorilla Glass 5 between generations, but larger 163.3 x 76.6 x 8.2 mm dimensions result in a screen-to-body ratio reduction to a mere 85.9%.
On the other hand, the adoption of a MediaTek Helio G99 Ultra chipset should yield over a 30% performance improvement though, which Xiaomi complements with up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The new model has also gained a 10% larger battery capacity that now sits at 5,500 mAh. The Redmi Note 14 4G will be available later this month in the following memory configurations and a choice between Lime Green, Ocean Blue, Mist Purple and Midnight Black colour options:
- 6 GB RAM/128 GB storage - £179/€199.90 (~$206)
- 8 GB RAM/128 GB storage - €229.90 (~$237)
- 8 GB RAM/256 GB storage - £229/€249.90 (~$258)
