The Galaxy Z Fold7 is likely four months away from being released. Based on current assumptions, Samsung will replace the Galaxy Z Fold6 (curr. $1,549 on Amazon) this summer during its next Galaxy Unpacked event. As such, various sources continue to claim to have received information about Samsung's next Galaxy Z Fold, which has not just the Galaxy Z Fold6 to follow but also the limited-run Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition.
According to recent rumours, the Galaxy Z Fold7 would be larger than both of the book-style foldables that Samsung launched last year. Specifically, Android Headlines and OnLeaks reported that the Galaxy Z Fold7 would span 8.2-inches when opened with 158.4 x 143.1 mm dimensions. In other words, this year's Galaxy Z Fold would dethrone the Oppo Find N5 as the largest foldable around. Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) subsequently suggested that this would not be the case, though.
PandaFlashPro has now reiterated this point by claiming that the Galaxy Z Fold series will return with an 8-inch foldable display. Reportedly, while the Galaxy Z Fold7 may only match the Special Edition in this regard, it is believed to support S Pen inputs via new hardware. The Galaxy Z Fold7 is also tipped to be 0.4 mm thinner than its Special Edition, which should result in sub-10 mm thickness from a Samsung foldable for the first time.
