It seems that Samsung is experimenting with a tri-fold version of the Galaxy Z Flip, at least under its Display subsidiary. While that design is only at the concept stage for now, major design changes could be afoot for the Galaxy Z Flip.
To recap, recent leaks suggest that the Galaxy Z Flip7 will be around 3.3 mm wider than the Galaxy Z Flip6, whose width and height are more or less identical to predecessors as far back as the Galaxy Z Flip3. Although 3.3 mm does not sound like much, a width of 75.2 mm would see the Galaxy Z Flip grow to about as wide as the Galaxy S25 Plus (curr. $799.99 on Amazon). By extension, the Galaxy Z Flip7 would also be marginally wider than the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra.
Based on a new leak by Android Headlines and OnLeaks, it seems that Samsung will be borrowing from the design of Motorola's Razr series in more ways than one. According to the pair, the Galaxy Z Flip7 will adopt a full-width cover display, just like the Razr 40 Ultra and Razr 50 Ultra before it. Allegedly, this change will yield a 4-inch cover display, up from 3.6-inches in the Galaxy Z Flip6.
