Motorola has registered a new device on China's regulatory TENAA database as the XT2551: a model number heretofore linked to the supposedly upcoming successor to the Razr 50 Ultra.
The presence of the next-gen flagship smartphone might be confirmed by official mugshots showing a foldable device of the by-now familiar neo-clamshell form factor, finished in a darker version of the handset's alleged Rio Red colorway.
The Razr "60 Ultra" could be a premium device indeed, as it might be available with as much as 18GB of RAM and with 2TB of on-board storage in addition to 256GB, 512GB and 1TB options, whereas even the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra can only be found with 512GB at most on Amazon.
TENAA also reveals that it will have the full 8-core version of the up-to-4.32GHz Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, whereas even the Oppo Find N5 has the 7-core variant.
Then again, those hoping for an equally thin and light Razr+ in 2025 might be disappointed, as it will apparently be 7.29 millimeters (mm) thick when unfolded and 199 grams (g), or 0.19mm and 10g more than the 50 Ultra respectively.
Those changes might be explained by its successor's dual batteries, which add up to 4,275mAh in typical capacity - or perhaps 4,500mAh in rated capacity, compared to 4,000mAh in the 50 Ultra.
The "60 Ultra's" dimensions remain largely unchanged otherwise - which makes sense, as the flexible 6.9-inch pOLED panel from the previous generation apparently makes a comeback. This main display is described as slightly higher-res at 1224×2992 (or ~1.5K) compared to FHD+ in its forebear, though.
Finally, the 50 Ultra's 4-inch cover screen remains in place in this new leak.
