Samsung is expected to deliver its answer to the Huawei Mate XT later this year, which has now reached Europe for €3,499 (~$3,672). For context, the so-called G Fold is not expected to launch alongside replacements for the Galaxy Z Flip6 and Galaxy Z Fold6 (curr. $1,519 on Amazon). Instead, the device is believed to be on track for a late 2025 release, possibly only a few months before the debut of the Galaxy S26 series.
In the meantime, Samsung Display has showcased a new version of the Flex G, upon which the Galaxy G Fold is said to be based. The latest Flex G looks far more mature than it has been in previous iterations, with bezels and display creases that are more befitting of a retail unit. On top of that, Samsung Display has exhibited the Flex G this time running what appears to be One UI, as well as the Samsung Gallery app and YouTube.
Potentially, this offers a glimpse into one of Samsung's new multitasking features, which will require re-working to make the most of a wider canvas than the Galaxy Z Fold series currently provides. The panel shown may well underpin Samsung's first mass-produced tri-fold too, given its proximity to a rumoured release date. The Flex G's overall design is unlikely to make it past the concept stage though, since it lacks any rear-facing cameras or any cover display to speak of.
