Since 2019, Xiaomi has announced a T-variant of its flagship number series, and it doesn't seem to be stopping soon as evidence of the next T-series smartphones has surfaced. The phones which are expected to arrive later this year will launch as the Xiaomi 15T and Xiaomi 15T Pro, succeeding the Xiaomi 14T (available on Amazon for $489.99) and Xiaomi 14T Pro respectively.
Evidence of the existence of the upcoming Xiaomi 15T series was found in the code of Xiaomi's HyperOS 2.1 software. While there are no technical details of the two smartphones, the code reveals the Xiaomi 15T is codenamed klimt
while the Xiaomi 15T Pro is codenamed turner
. Both codenames are based on real-life painters, Gustav Klimt and J.M.W. Turner, which continues Xiaomi's tradition of naming its devices after famous painters.
The Xiaomi 15T Pro is reported to be closely related to the Redmi K80 Ultra which also has the same codename but a different model number. However, going by the Redmi K70 Ultra and Xiaomi 14T Pro, the Xiaomi 15T Pro may have better specifications. The non-pro model, on the other hand, should have toned-down specifications such as a less-powerful processor and slower charging.
There's no info yet on when the Xiaomi 15T series will be announced but they likely won't be unveiled until the second half of the year.
