Digital Chat Station has shed new light on the state of the Vivo X200 Ultra and how it could soon rival other 'Ultra' devices like the Xiaomi 15 Ultra or Galaxy S25 Ultra (curr. $1,219.99 on Amazon). To recap, there were suggestions at the end of last month that Vivo had settled on two camera sensors for the rear-facing camera hardware inside the X200 Ultra.
For example, the ISOCELL HP9 was said to be getting another runout, having been put to use last year as the 200 MP periscope camera inside the X100 Ultra. According to Digital Chat Station, Vivo has opted for an 85 mm telephoto lens this time around, which is a match for the 3.7x periscope camera in its predecessor.
With that being said, Digital Chat Station implies that the periscope camera in the X200 Ultra will sport a much wider aperture than the equivalent in last year's model. For context, the latter complements its 85 mm equivalent focal length with an f/2.7 aperture. The X200 Ultra is said to expand this to around f/2.27, which should greatly improve light sensitivity.
The same could be the case for the X200 Ultra's primary and ultra-wide-angle cameras. While Digital Chat Station does not provide a specific aperture value for the latter, he suggests that the former will arrive with an f/1.69 aperture. Apparently, the primary camera will adopt a 35 mm equivalent focal length too; the X200 Ultra's ultra-wide-angle camera will remain at 14 mm, though. Reportedly, Vivo will use Sony's LYT-818 sensors across both these cameras.
