Xiaomi launched the Poco X7 series last week, with the Poco X7 and Poco X7 Pro debuting as affordable, performance-focused offerings. The Poco X7 Pro features a Dimensity 8400 Ultra chipset, but how does it perform relative to last year's Dimensity 8300 Ultra-powered Poco X6 Pro?
Starting with Geekbench 6, the Poco X7 Pro earns a single-core score of 1,579 and a multi-core score of 6,100 on Geekbench 6. In comparison, our tests of last year's Poco X6 Pro saw it deliver scores of 1,424 and 4,527 on those same tests respectively. It's a similar matter on AnTuTu, where the Poco X7 Pro comes away with a CPU score of 359,485; the Poco X6 Pro scores 290,365.
On the GPU side, the Poco X7 Pro scores 574,754 on AnTuTu's GPU test, while the Poco X6 Pro manages a healthy 514,295. While we don't have 3DMark numbers for the Poco X7 Pro, its twin, the Redmi Turbo 4, has scored an impressive 4,086 on the Wild Life Extreme test. Comparatively, the Poco X6 Pro scored 3,068 on that test during our evaluations last year.
It's important to note that the Redmi Turbo 4 outperforms the Poco X7 Pro by a noticeable margin on most benchmarks, even though they feature the same chipset.
In conclusion, it's evident the Poco X7 Pro—and its Dimensity 8400 Ultra by extension—outperforms the Dimensity 8300 Ultra-powered Poco X6 Pro. The new duo holds a 20% advantage over last year's offerings, both on the CPU and GPU sides. Decent but hardly groundbreaking.
