Xiaomi's most powerful (and most expensive) electric vehicle (EV) to date is in mass production and should start to see deliveries in its native China during 2025. But first, the SU7 Ultra will be put on display in physical stores for the benefit of potential buyers. The 1,000+ horsepower car boasts industry-leading carbon-ceramic brakes and a high-tech battery.

The SU7 Ultra's name might make it sound like one of Xiaomi's most high-performance smartphones, but it is in fact the OEM's highest-performing car instead.

The EV might look a lot like the original SU7 sedan on first glance, but is a bit longer at 5,070 millimeters (mm), thanks to the addition of its spoiler and front splitter. It is also finished in a distinctive bright yellow, with the obligatory racing lines to make sure of standing apart from its standard, Pro and Max siblings down the mid-line in silver.

It was also closer to ~$112,000 (814,900 yuan) than the standard SU7 ever was at around $30,000 on the start of its pre-orders. Xiaomi is believed to have accrued 3,680 of those reservations within the first 10 minutes of that event.

The OEM estimates that it will be able to start fulfilling those orders from March 2025. In the meantime, undecided sports-car enthusiasts can go to see the SU7 Ultra in person from tomorrow (February 5).

Its new paint job, V8s triple motor system (rated for 1,526hp compared to 295hp in the base-model SU7) and carbon-ceramic brakes (said to be the largest of their kind made for any sports car to date) in 112 showrooms across 42 of the country's cities from that date.
