Xiaomi continues its impressive EV run and is marking its 200,000th car delivery. Wait times for the electric sedan are now over 30 weeks.

It is not often that a company becomes wildly successful with its first product in a completely new segment. However, Xiaomi, a name associated with phones until last year, is celebrating the 200,000th delivery of its only electric sedan.

According to pictures shared by Xiaomi on Weibo, the young couple who got the milestone-marking SU7 picked the special red color. It was the first delivery of the color option commemorating the company’s 15th anniversary. The post also mentioned that it took 229 days to reach the first 100,000 deliveries but only 119 days for the second phase.

Xiaomi ended 2024 with more than 135,000 deliveries after gathering almost a quarter of a million orders. It has been delivering over 20,000 units monthly for the last five months.

It is significant that Xiaomi achieved the feat without exporting a single car, relying on demand from its local market. Demand for the inaugural model is high, with buyers having to wait more than 30 weeks for order fulfillment. However, it plans to expand overseas by 2027.

Xiaomi offers the SU7 in three versions: Standard, Pro, and Max, which cost $29,840, $33,964, and $41,422, respectively. It also sells the SU7 Ultra with higher horsepower, starting at a steeper $73,190.
