Haply Robotics has launched a Kickstarter campaign for its MinVerse 3D haptic mouse, which enables gamers and creators to control and craft 3D objects with force feedback.

Haply Robotics has started its Kickstarter campaign for the MinVerse 3D haptic mouse. The 3D mouse allows 3D artists, gamers, drone and robotics hobbyists, and others to manipulate 3D objects with greater ease than a traditional mouse. The $1,500 MSRP MinVerse has early backer packages available at a lower price for delivery in the fall of 2025.

Regular mice only operate in 2D space (X, Y axis), but many games and 3D modeling programs operate in 3D space (X, Y, Z axis). This has forced users into awkward control setups, such as using a mouse with a keyboard with both hands to control objects in 3D space.

Other companies have attempted to create similar 3D input devices. Novint was one early defunct innovator, and 3D Systems is one current maker of the Touch haptic devices, which are priced starting at $3,400. Haply Robotics is bringing down the price of its USB mouse to open the market to more creators and gamers.

MinVerse uses an open API for easy integration into apps, and Haply Robotics will release the mouse with compatibility with Blender, RoboDK, and other Windows apps upon launch.

The MinVerse measures 240 x 120 x 40 mm (9.4 x 4.7 x 1.6 in.) and weighs 1.2 kg (2.6 lbs.). The working input range of the mouse is 145 x 330 x 250 mm (5.7 x 13.0 x 9.8 in.). The force feedback varies from 0 to 4 N (0 to 0.9 lbf.).

Readers who want to create 3D models for their games and virtual projects with greater ease and don't require haptic feedback can try the cheaper 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse (sold here on Amazon).

Canadian company Haply Robotics has introduced the MinVerse device for 3D modeling. This is a special mobile stand to which a stylus or mouse is connected. After that, the input device can be moved along the axes of three-dimensional space.

It is also noted that MinVerse has a feedback function. With it, the user feels the texture and weight of the object with which he interacts. The company paid attention to compactness and mobility, so that MinVerse can be folded and carried around, for example, if you need to change your workplace.

The device is now fully compatible with Blender, HARP, RoboDR and other programs. There is an open API for developers to create their own integrations and expand the capabilities of MinVerse.

The company is currently raising funds on Kickstarter, so the gadget is not available for retail sale. You can pre-order it on the crowdfunding platform for $670. This is the price with a 50% discount. DevKit for developers will cost $760. The company will start sending out gadgets at the end of summer 2025.
