Xiaomi parks first Chinese car in Gran Turismo PS5 racing game garage as the cheapest 1500 HP vehicle there

Phone maker Xiaomi has crafted the first Chinese car to ever appear in the Gran Turismo garage. The racing simulator worked with Xiaomi, which turned a profit from its nascent EV business five times faster than Tesla, to copy its SU7 Ultra supercar handling onto the digital racetrack.
In Gran Turismo 7, which is currently discounted by 39% on Amazon for those who own a PS5, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is slotted within one of the top two categories. With its tri-motor drivetrain that outputs 1,548 horsepower, it is just 52 HP short of the five hypercars in the storied racing game franchise.
Still, it is the leader in its Gran Turismo category, beating the 1479 HP Bugatti Chiron for the top spot despite costing just around $73,000 against the three-million-dollar Chiron. While it's hard for the Bugatti to compete with the rapid acceleration characteristic of the electric powertrain, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra also beats other EVs in its price range, like Tesla's Model S Plaid, in a drag race.
Not only that, but Xiaomi presents the SU7 Ultra as the fastest four-door sedan in mass production that is capable of reaching 350 km/h (217 mph). The fact that Xiaomi is able to offer this car in the $70,000-$80,000 range equivalent is something new for the Gran Turismo roster, too, where 1,500+ HP vehicles typically cost in the millions.
In any case, Gran Turismo 7 players can now race with the first Chinese car ever to appear in the game, and the fact that it is electric may be a harbinger of things to come. Sony is reportedly planning to introduce BYD's 2025 U9 Extreme to Gran Turismo, too, which, at more than 3,000 HP, has now become the world's fastest car, with its 308 mph top speed knocking Bugatti off its perch.
