The Oppo Find N5 will be launching soon in China. The foldable phone will succeed the Find N3 that launched in 2023. For the international markets, the phone is expected to be rebranded as the OnePlus Open 2.
Previously, we covered the news of the industry-leading water resistance of the foldable phone. Another big highlight is that it will be the world’s thinnest foldable smartphone. However, a new leak suggests that it may not be the lightest one.
The Vivo X Fold 3 currently holds the title of the world’s lightest foldable smartphone, having a weight of 219g. A popular tipster, Digital Chat Station, claims that the Oppo Find N5/OnePlus Open 2 weighs more than 219g. Hence, even though the OnePlus Open 2 will be the thinnest foldable, it is going to be heavier than the Vivo X Fold 3.
The thinnest foldable is advertised, thickness <9.2mm, the lightest foldable is not advertised, weight >219g - Digital Chat Station
Furthermore, the leak suggests that the OnePlus Open 2 will have a flat design for the inner and outer screens. Additionally, it will have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The upcoming foldable phone will feature the 7-core Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. It is expected to pack a 5,700mAh battery capacity with support for 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. It is expected to have a triple rear camera setup. The rear camera module design is said to be similar to that of the OnePlus 13.
