Vivo X200 Ultra: Official camera samples highlight strength of new 35 mm and 85 mm cameras

Vivo executive Han Bo Xiao continues to drip feed information about the X200 Ultra online while also showcasing the strength of the device's triple camera set-up. For context, the executive has already highlighted the low-light capabilities of Vivo's improved 200 MP telephoto camera, as well as its upgraded and now optically-stabilised ultra-wide-angle camera.

This time, Xiao has published images taken with the X200 Ultra's primary camera. Based on recent rumours, Vivo has built this camera around the Sony LYT-818, which will underpin the X200 Ultra's ultra-wide-angle camera too. By contrast, the device's 200 MP telephoto camera is expected to leverage the ISOCELL HP9 with an f/2.27 aperture.

Xiao's latest round of camera samples implies that the X200 Ultra's primary camera will shoot natively at a 35 mm equivalent focal length just like the Nubia Z70 Ultra (curr. $769 on Amazon). The same images also show the X200 Ultra's strength in producing portrait shots at 50 mm, 85 mm and even 135 mm. However, it remains to be seen whether these latter focal lengths have been achieved with the X200 Ultra's primary or telephoto cameras. Regardless, Vivo is set to present the X200 Ultra later this month with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and upgraded in-house ISPs, among other upgrades from the X100 Ultra.
