The Xiaomi 16 series will arrive later in the year with bigger displays, thinner bezels, flat screens, and upgraded cameras. However, a new leak indicates that, as with previous generations, one of the models in the lineup is set to remain exclusive to the Chinese market and will not launch globally.
Xiaomi is slated to launch the Xiaomi 16 series much later in the year. According to previous reports, the phones could debut as early as September this time, and a new leak has now provided some insight into the company's launch plans for the series.
As shared by Yogesh Brar, Xiaomi is readying the vanilla Xiaomi 16 to launch both in China and on the global market. Presumably, the vanilla 16 will make its debut in September or October, before launching globally at MWC. The Xiaomi 16 Pro is a different matter, however. Like the Xiaomi 15 Pro and Xiaomi 14 Pro, the flagship is unlikely to ever make it out of China, with Xiaomi likely only launching the Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Ultra globally.
As previously revealed, the Xiaomi 16 and 16 Pro are slated to launch with several changes. Both phones could arrive with larger displays—the 16 Pro, in particular, is expected to sport a 6.8-inch screen—with the Xiaomi 16 also tipped to feature a new periscope zoom lens.
